Congratulations! You've made a decision and made the commitment. You've accepted Christ as your Savior. So, You're a Christian! Now What?

Christianity is all about growth. Just as physical newborns must grow and develop, spiritual newborns must develop skills for functioning and growing in the Body of Christ.

Too often, though, when someone accepts Christ as an adult, they receive little if any assistance to assure that spiritual growth. As a result, they can wander for years in a labyrinth of confusion, never understanding why they're so unsatisfied.

If you've found yourself in a quandary, or know someone who has, this book was written for you. Born out of her personal struggle to grow spiritually, this study by author and pastor's wife Catherine Painter encourages and assists spiritual babes through those first, important stages of Christian development.

Both new and long-time believers learn the similarities and differences in being born, and being born again; how to communicate — with God in prayer and quiet times; how to feed themselves — with God's Word; how to dress themselves — in the armor of God; how to assume their role in the family — using their talents and spiritual gifts; what it means to bear the family resemblance — by manifesting the fruit of the Spirit; how to share — their testimony; how to walk — the road that leads to life; and how to talk — the language of Christians.

Whether you're a new Christian wondering where to go from here, or a long-time Christian who knows you've missed something somewhere along the way, Congratulations!

So, You're a Christian! Now What?

5 Stars Wow! Were We Ever Surprised!
by Rebecca Edwards from Quest Fellowship, Raleigh, NC
The Ladies Bible Study group at my church chose So, You’re A Christian! Now What? for our current Bible study. Our decision was mostly influenced by the desire to help a new adult Christian in our group. We "old time" Christians agreed to hear again what we had learned before, just for the benefit of this new Christian. Wow! Were we ever surprised. The lessons in this wonderful Bible study proved essential for all of us, no matter how long ago we accepted Christ. After studying these concepts, each of us has grown stronger in our walk with the Lord. With each lesson I thought surely author Catherine Painter would start to wind down. But all of the lessons are so powerful, every lesson has proved more valuable than the previous one. Although this is an excellent Bible study to help an adult new Christian understand the journey with Christ, it is essential for long time Christians to be reminded of the steps in a faithful life for the Lord. I recommend it for all Christians, men and women, young and old.

5 Stars Enhanced Our Walk With Christ
by Sam Atkins
My wife and I really enjoyed this Bible study. It provided us, as new Christians, the steps to take our Christian faith to the next level. We encourage every Bible study group to use this book to deepen and enhance their walk with Christ. (Also, having the opportunity to take a class conducted by the author was a great experience.)

5 Stars The Absolute Best Book on Discipleship
by Rev. Hal Melton
So, You're a Christian! Now What? is the absolute best book on discipleship I have seen in my seventeen years of ministry. This Bible study is meeting needs of new Christians as well as seasoned believers who never received basic discipling in all aspects of living the life of faith. Thoroughly immersed in scripture, each topic is woven carefully into a solid foundation of Christian theology that will enable the participant to grow in relationship with the living God. I highly recommend it to a church serious about offering spiritual formation opportunities to all spiritual maturity levels — youth through senior adults.

5 Stars Clear and Sound
by Dr. Tony W. Cartledge
Catherine Painter writes with clarity of thought and soundness of heart, beautifully communicating the Gospel message. Fortunate are the Christians who will use her Bible study.

5 Stars Long Overdue
by Dr. Jerry W. Lemon, Editor, Life Ventures
Catherine Painter is an excellent communicator. She writes Sunday School lessons for Life Ventures, published by LifeWay Resources, Nashville. Catherine’s warm concern for people, deep love for Jesus, and practical life experiences come through clearly in her speaking and writing. Her book, So, You’re a Christian! Now What?, is long overdue.

5 Stars It's Real and People Will Get It
by Ken Stephenson, Administrator, CCC
I gave the book to some of the staff and asked them to give me some feedback. In a matter of minutes, they were back to me with very positive thoughts and suggesting how we could incorporate it in our beginners' class as well as small groups. Two repeated comments were, "I like this because it is real and people will get it,' and "It also refers you to scripture to back it up."

5 Stars I Have Recommended It to Young and Old!
by Gloria Overton
What a wonderful gift Catherine Painter has shared through her finding the Lord's Will for her life. For me to start at the beginning of my journey in Christ (senior adult now), was such a humbling experience. I am so thankful for So, You're A Christian! Now What? because my life is more peaceful and God is speaking to me more because I'm opening the door for Him.

Christians young and old should take the opportunity to do this Bible study because life is short and we need to understand how important God's Word is to communicate and include Him in our journey on earth.

5 Stars A Great Start for New Believers/Baby Christians!
by Luci Hough, Pregnancy Resource Center
We use So, You’re A Christian! Now What? at our pregnancy resource center in our class for new believers. Many new Christians are not connected with a church or small group for discipleship. We try to provide a foundation that will bridge this gap and answer their questions while their zeal is high. By the completion of this Bible study, they should feel comfortable selecting a church and moving on to fellowship in a church. It is also appropriate for those who are considering the gospel but have not made a commitment to Christ.

So, You're a Christian! Now What? has been the perfect resource for our small group study. We looked at a lot of books, videos, and workbooks in our search for a study aid that would appeal to young adults and take new believers into the Scriptures. It is well-organized, each lesson building on the one before, and it covers the basics of Christianity in a format that is interactive and easy to follow. Though we use it for a group, it would be appropriate for self-study, too.

5 Stars A Most Eye-Opening Experience!
by Kathleen Taylor
As a 62 year old woman who accepted Christ at a young age, I thought that I was leading a Christian life and doing everything the way that I had been taught as a child. After completing So, You're a Christian! Now What?, I found some of the answers to questions I had had all my life. This has been the most eye opening experience for me and lets me know that I have a long way to go. The meaning of being a Christian has a whole new meaning for me after completing this Bible study.

5 Stars Thought-Provoking and Creative
by Stephen Boyd, Central Church
So, You're a Christian! Now What? will help any reader to become a better Bible student because of the emphasis on scriptures, the thought-provoking questions, and the creative exercises which keep interest high. I especially like the "Write Your Story" section at the end of each lesson. This Bible study is well-written and is outlined in such a way as to encourage each reader to look inward, take stock of where he or she is in living the Christian life, and determine what he or she can do to keep growing. I highly recommend this Bible study.
