Excellent study
for small groups
and/or personal use.
You've got to do
this study! I've
done many Bible
studies over the
years, so I am
particular about
what constitutes a
really good study.
I've also had the
responsibility of
choosing studies for
large groups of
women, and I take
that responsibility
seriously.
Courageous Faith is
one of my favorites.
Keith Bower, writes
with enough meaty
information to
reflect his thorough
theological
background, but he
is not over the
average
participant’s head.
He makes the study
of Esther come alive
with applications
that are
contemporary and
relevant. His
personal stories
make it interesting.
His historical
background provides
an accurate setting
for Esther's period
of history and make
the characters of
this dramatic story
come alive. His
personal conviction
that the Bible is
reliable and the
source of truth is
evident. Yet, he
doesn't make leaps
to try and make the
Bible say what was
not the original
author's intent. He
hits the proper
balance of enough,
but not too much
daily study. It is
not overwhelming,
yet it is
challenging. One of
the main points of
the study, which is
so needed in present
Christian circles,
is the need to not
be passive in our
faith.
We had the unique
privilege of
actually having Dr.
Bower teach the
study. He was
winsome, humorous,
and knowledgeable.
Beside the fact that
he did a wonderful
job, we experienced
his kindness and
availability to walk
with us through a
true crisis. The man
who wrote Courageous
Faith is genuine. He
is not
condescending.
Although he is full
of credentials, he
is a servant.
We give highest
marks for this study
and the author. I
hope he writes more
studies like this.

thinking about God,

Although the
story of Esther
is familiar to
many, Dr. Bower
leads the reader
through the
study in such a
way that he/she
experiences
events just as
Mordecai and
Esther must
have. This study
teaches that God
makes use of all
that happens to
us, from
ordinary events
to major crises,
in order to
bring about His
good and perfect
plan for our
lives. Bower's
explanation of
Persian culture
greatly enhances
the study.

"Courageous
Faith" was the
Bible study my
neighborhood
small group
picked for our
summer study. We
all had various
crisis' going on
in our lives and
even experienced
new ones during
this study.
Because of this
Bible study, we
were all able to
more clearly see
the hand of God
working in our
lives and that
knowledge lead
us to be able to
trust God with
all the unknowns
in our lives.
"Courageous
Faith" was
informative,
thought
provoking, and
easily
understood. The
author has a
wonderful handle
on what life was
like and what
the motivation
of the
characters was
all about. I
would recommend
this Bible study
to anyone who
has ever gone
through a time
of crisis or who
is currently
facing one.
